Fleeing Boko Haram suspect arrested in Abuja

Usman was arrested by members of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Marshall Guards, a private security firm floated by an area council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

He was arrested while preaching at the Utako Market at about 4:30pm on Tuesday. A statement by the AMAC Marshal’s public relations officer, Kingsley Madaki said the suspect was arrested with “Qur’an and a chaplet on his neck while trying to lobby people in the market.”

The statement said the suspect who confessed to be a member of the Boko Haram sect was handed over to army officers from Gowon Barracks. Crdt: DailyTrust
